Sunday 9th September 2018 - The last Post - Back to Las Vegas Nevada

Saturday 8th September 2018 - Back to Nevada

This morning we went into St George Utah and visited the Dinosaur Museum.  This was discovered by a Mr. Johnson who was digging on his property to erect a building and discovered the tracks of many dinosaurs.  The site is much like Lark Quarry in Australia where the actual tracks on the ground have been covered by a building to protect them.  It was quite interesting and something our grandkids would love.

Footprints in the sandstone

After the Dinosaur museum we drove into the Valley of Fire which is not far from Las Vegas where we have to return the rental motorhome.  What a wonderful place.  The rock formations are amazing.  The temperature soared to over 100F  about 40c so was pretty hot.  Luckily we were on power and could use the air conditioning.

We've arrived back in Las Vegas and booked into an RV resort with a pool and spa.  We've soaked and swam all afternoon and into the night so are feeling completely relaxed for our flight home tomorrow.

Thank you to all of you who have been reading my blog and thank you to America for another successful holiday.

The end

Friday 7th September 2018 - A week with the younguns Part 2

Wednesday 5th September 2018

Today we travelled to the Page Arizona area which is one of my favourite spots in America where we did a short hike into Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River followed by a guided Indian Reservation tour into Antelope Canyon which is absolutely awesome.  Afterwards we crossed the bridge of the Glen Canyon dam and camped out at Lone Rock Campground which is the sight where Matt Smith rose out of the lake in his first episode of series 6 Doctor Who.

Horseshoe Bend

a short drive into the canyon on the back of a Ford F250

Antelope Canyon I cannot say enough about this canyon.  $60 to go in but absolutely awesome

I can't say enough about this place as I love it so much.  Just as good the second time around.

Today we moved on in to Zion National Park.  As it is Friday the campground was all booked out so we just drove through and soaked up the sights.  We've come out the other side and camped at Quail Creek State Park for the night which is also beautiful.

Had to pay $15 for a permit to go through this tunnel between Bryce Canyon and Zion

Found a funky shop selling all sorts of indian goods

Visited the Silver Creek ghost silver mining town

We're camping the night at Quail Creek State Park near Leeds in Utah
