Jacob Lake Arizona - Friday, 30th April 2010

The next stop on our agenda was going to be the north rim of the Grand Canyon so off we went up the mountain through some very scenic country and into the Kaibab Forest which is about 7,000ft altitude.  It turns out that the north rim won't open until 15th May so we can't wait around for it, luckily we had a brilliant time on the south rim and it leaves something for us to come back to.  Anyway, we decided to just pull off the road and camp for the night and saw a motorhome in a clearing so pulled in next to them and asked if they were camping the night and could we join them and one of them said howareyagoin? and I said excitedly are you Australian? And he said yes, so that was it, we were in there and had a brilliant night with them around a campfire.

After tea we had target practice with the magnum these guys bought at Wally mart, only in America hey?
