11th June 2017 - Myakka River State Park and Patriots Plaza

Today we drove through Myakka River State Park which has an abundance of birdlife and alligators.  Unfortunately on this occasion there weren't very many alligators showing their faces and the water was quite dark making them difficult to spot.  We registered to do the 5 mile wilderness walk but only went a short way into the track as it was full of water and very sloppy to get through so we turned around and came back.

This is where you watch for birds

On the way back out we came across this bambi

The trees are covered in old mans beard

On the way home we called in at Patriots Plaza which is a cematery for the armed services  and very tastefully done
