Big Trees – Sequoia National Park CA – 20th – 21st April 2010

Well, this is another gobsmacking place. It was just starting to rain when we arrived after travelling through some winding roads up a mountain. We got a bit wet setting up camp and then it fined up so we went on a 2 hour hike up to a waterfall. There are bears and cougars here but we haven’t seen any yet, just some squirrels and deer (does that count?).

These trees are massive

The next day when we woke up the place was covered in snow. Unbelievable, heatwave one day, frozen the next. Can’t believe how much the climate changes over the space of a couple of hundred miles. So off we went in the car further up the mountain to see the giant sequoias. These trees are massive and covered with snow they are stunning. Had fun playing in the snow but it was good to get back in the RV and warm up at the end of the day.

This is a huge tree that has been hollowed out

Some people never grow up
