Monday, 12th April 2010 - Grand Canyon AZ

We had a good day walking around the rim of the canyon and I climbed down about a quarter mile into the canyon to take some photos (Hughie stayed up the top as he is scared of heights). Had a look at a Hopi house and an old hotel El Tavor that was built in the early 1900’s, beautiful architecture. Headed back to the rv for a late lunch and there we stayed as a snow storm set in. I think this is what the locals call a spring dump. I’ve taken a few pictures out of the windows and door but I’m not going out there, too fr………..in freezin’. First time I’ve been in a snow storm. Of course , Hughie has seen plenty after having a childhood in Scotland. Now is the big test, does the truck have antifreeze in it and will the pipes in the rv cope with the snow. This is all new to us and hope we come out of it with not too much damage.

Las Vegas here we come, love this place but it’s getting too cold

  1. Hi H & J. Fancy you two getting snow! We had weeks of it in January and February. It does make for some good photos though. Just beginning to warm up here. The spring blossom and flowers are all late because of the bad winter.
Standby Relocations are starting to offer some good deals in the USA now - watch this space!!!
We'll need your advice on sites and sights!
