Well, the only real problem we had was negotiating our way to the Johnson Nasa Space Center on that bloody big freeway. Of course Fred wanted to take us on the 610 and John had told us to stay on the I10 and avoid the 610. Anyway, in the end Fred won as we had no idea where we were going. After an hour we finally landed at our destination. This center is the mission control that guided all the Apollo missions including the one that landed us on the moon on 20th July 1969. It was very interesting looking at the old technology and how they managed to accomplish what they did. The two big mainframe computers that helped control the mission to land on the moon were each about the size of an average small house and held one megabyte of memory. This is amazing compared to today's technology. The presenter likened it to two pictures on your digital camera. One picture going up and one picture coming down. So, a good time was had by all. This afternoon we went to an acquaintence of Stacha's who is having a garage sale and bought a few items to stock the 5th Wheeler. We have one more day in Houston and then we go out to Katy to pick up our 5th wheeler. They are allowing us to stay at the side of their facility with full hookup so we can sort everything out before we leave. We will stock up with crockery, utensils, food etc. and go west on Monday. First stop San Antonio and the Alamo and then Big Bend National Park.
