Banff to Jasper Alberta Canada - Friday, Saturday 6-7th August 2010

Left Calgary to travel through one of Canada's most scenic areas, the Banff and Jasper National Parks.  Camped by a beautiful lake and took a hike up the mountain after taking photos of the many glaciers along the way.  Haven't seen any bears here yet but I'm sure they are around as all the wild berries are out at the moment.

This is about as close as we've come to seeing any bears in Canada so far (make sure you read ALL the sign)

One of the many glaciers in the park

The lakes are a beautiful blue from the snow melt

You can see why they are called the Rocky Mountains

Another 5 star view from the campsite at Waterfowl Lake
(the mouse was just hanging about getting in the way)

Had a slight hail storm not long after we arrived so no swimming in the lake this time.

The Canadians are trying to beat the Americans for the most outrageous setups as far as carting stuff around camping with them, check this out.

This pickup has a spare buggy and a boat strapped on sideways across the tray as well as towing a caravan.  We still haven't figured how he gets the buggy off the car.

Day two and we moved along through Jasper National Park with more great scenery and stopped at the Glacial Icefields centre for some more photos of more glaciers (is this getting boring?)
