This morning we went to the birthplace of Elvis in Tupelo
Mississippi. The town has done a good
job in creating a space for the reflection on the life of Elvis Presley as a
boy growing up in Tupelo till the age of 13 when he moved to Memphis Tennessee.
We arrived on Sunday and it was closed but we could still
wander around the complex.
This is the church he attended as a child
The church house outhouse, just looks like an Aussie dunny
hey?
This is the little house that he was born in
Elvis at 13 by then he had owned a guitar for 2 years. His mama was going to buy him a gun but he
wanted a guitar instead, lucky for us
This is the same model car that his family moved to Memphis with, a 1937 Plymouth
This statue is in the remembrance garden depicting Elvis the
boy and Elvis the entertainer.
