Yeah we made it to Graceland Graceland Memphis Tennessee we
made it to Graceland what a mission.
Huge 8 to 10 lane highways that we had to negotiate with clover leaves
and flyovers or whatever they call them.
Lucky we have our great GPS to navigate our way through it all. Anyway, we got through without any mishaps
and got into a nice little state park called T. O. Fuller State Park which was
only 6 miles away from Graceland.
Graceland is only on the outskirts of town so we didn’t have to go any
further into the city. We did pass
through a bit of a slum area to get to the park but once we did it was
beautiful. They even had a swimming pool
but unfortunately the day we were there was the day it was closed. We drove the RV into the Graceland carpark
where they charged us $15 to park. Oh
well they must be running a bit low on funds.
Here’s a few shots inside the mansion
Lounge room, all very 70’s
The media room
The pool room, I don’t know what he was thinking but the
whole room is lined with this weird material, very gawdy
Then of course there is the jungle room
The façade of the house wasn’t as big as I expected but it all sits on 15
acres so not a bad piece of property.
There was plenty more to see but I need to leave some surprises if you ever
come here yourself. Elvis also gave
quite a bit of money to charity over the years.
Elvis is buried on the property alongside his mother and father
and twin stillborn brother Jesse Garon and his aunt Minnie Mae
A great day had by all, livin the dream
