After a long wait to get across the border into Canada we
finally made it to Niagara Falls. I must
tell you that they are awesome. Too hard
to describe the amount of water coming over the edge, it was unbelievable. We did the boat trip up to the face of the
falls and got soaking wet. I might add
that it was also raining but still good.
This is the first view we got from the bridge where we were lined up to get over the border.
The American Falls on the left and Horseshoe Falls on the right.
See the small dot at the foot of the falls, this is the boat that we are going to get on. It kind of shows the magnitude of the size. The boat is not that small as it holds over 100 people.
Suited up ready for the fun
The American side of the falls
The edge where it all falls over, the volume of water is unbelievable.
We also took the tour which takes you behind the falls. Now to start with we weren’t overly impressed
as they just had two tunnels and all you could see was a wall of water. I was expecting to walk along behind the
water but never mind.
Then we walked out
onto a platform which was 125ft below the top of the falls and right at the
edge. The view from here was amazing. You could see all the water coming over the
edge of the falls. This was a thoroughly spectacular experience. As usual the photos
won’t do it justice.
