Saturday 23rd September 2017 - Nothing would be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning

We took a trip out to see Chimney Rock State Park where you get an elevator to the top of the rock.  Unfortunately the elevator was broken so we couldn't go to the top but got these pictures from the bottom

I'll let you be the judge on what it looks like

They had a waterfall as well, this is the area where they filmed the movie "The last of the Moheccans"

Called by the Biltmore Estate the extrordinary home built by the Vanderbilt millionare family

We travelled along some of the Blue Ridge Parkway over the highest peak which was pretty spectacular scenery.

The leaves are beginning to change colour and it should be an even better sight in a couple of weeks

We took a hike to the summit

Then we were off to the Cherokee Indian village

Monday 25th September 2017 - South Carolina

Today we left the comfort of our cosy cottage with Jane and Chuck and headed to South Carolina where we booked in to High Falls State Park.  In the afternoon we were picked up and taken to Anns place near Salem where she has a house on the lake.  We had a lovely afternoon swimming and canoeing followed by a yummy supper.
