May – Eureka Springs MO
Today Deb and Roger took us into a great little old English
type town called Eureka Springs. The
town became popular due to the healing waters that were found there. Although they are so called ‘springs’ the
slight trickle that comes down through the rock ledge looks more like a bit of
ground seepage than an actual spring.
Not much happening in there
They have a haunted hotel there called The Crescent. It was built in 1886 and has been used for
other things in the past besides a hotel.
It was once a hospital and it’s from that period that the so called
ghosts came from, one being a former nurse who wheels a trolley up and down the
hallways.

These are the official ghosts
There was also a beautiful old church down at the end of the
garden.
The town is full of eclectic artisan’s shops which were very
interesting to browse through.
So, that day done we came home for a swim and a sit around
the fire pit in Deb and Roger’s beautiful garden.

May 2018
Deb and Roger are very involved with their senior citizens club
in Shell Knob. Roger is on the board and
Deb does some meal deliveries and other things for the seniors in their area, that
is, the ones that are much much older than us of course. However, while we were down there having a
look around we also got a yummy home cooked hot lunch for $3.50 each. Always in for a bargain. While boating on the first day we were here
we met Donna and Steve who invited us over for dinner which was another great
night getting to know new people.
