Wednesday 8th August 2018 - Further south in Oregon

Wednesday 8th August 2018

Today we drove to Cascade Head trail where we did a quite strenuous 4 mile hike round trip to a grassy headland for some stunning views of the coastline.  Luckily we were there before the sea mist rolled in for the day.  After lunch we travelled down a little further past Lincoln City to Yaquina Head Lighthouse and interpretive centre.  We did another walk along a trail to the lighthouse once again with great views of the coastline plus the added bonus of harbour seals, some sea lions, cormorants, black shags and grey whales which were breaching quite near to the shoreline.  We've ended the day camping at another casino (The Three Rivers) for free near Florence.  So when we registered to camp we were given $10 on a members player card to spend in the slot machines.  Needless to say we spent that in no time and added another $5 as well.  We're definitely cheapskates.

Sign at the interpretive centre, those who have known us for a long time will know who used to look like this
