Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon Page Arizona - 2nd May 2010

Went for a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam this morning which was very interesting, a lot of years in the making with the loss of a few lives.

Glen Canyon Dam

After the dam tour we went out to Antelope Canyon where you are taken on a guided tour by the Indians.  This canyon is what is known as a slot canyon that is carved out by water and the sides are so close you can touch both sides with your arms outstretched.  What an amazing place.  We have never seen anything like it.  The closest we would have in Australia would be Weano Gorge in the Pilbara in Western Australia.  It is a photographers dream with all the light changes and once again my photos won't do the place justice.

Magic place

On the way back to the campsite we went to see Horseshoe bend which is a big loop in the Colorado River
