Lake Powell, Page Arizona - Saturday 1st May 2010

Had a leisurely drive today through some spectacular scenery, past the Vermillion Cliffs into Marble Canyon and Lees Ferry.

                                                             Not a bad lunch spot

After having lunch by the Colorado River we drove on to Lake Powell which is part of the Glen Canyon recreational area.  Our annual pass for the national parks also gives us free entry into this as well.  We camped on the beach at the edge of the lake in a place called Lone Rock and you can see exactly why it's called that when you look at the photos as there is this huge rock sitting on it's own in the middle of the lake.  The people camped in front of us just came back in their boat and they have caught some rainbow trout.  We went for a walk along the beach and I found a silver and turquoise ring so that was a bonus.  Ten dollars a night to camp, not bad hey?

This is the view from our RV
