What a lovely little town this is. We are staying in 'My Old Kentucky Home' State Park by the edge of a beautiful golf course. Only trouble is it's too hot to play golf and we don't have our clubs with us so we settled for a bike ride around town instead. Lot's of old heritage buildings and horses and carts going up and down the street. The town was made famous by Stephen Foster who wrote the song 'My Old Kentucky Home' amongst others. The birthplace of Abraham Lincoln is also not far from here.
This is Federal Hill, the house that inspired the song. The photos of it in the snow of winter make it look lovely
Main Street
The old county jail
This is the room in the tavern in which Jesse James shot holes through the walls. I guess he was none too happy about the service.
This town is also responsible for the production of 94% of the world's bourbon so of course we had to have a tour through the Barton 1792 Distillery
